Dear colleagues,
Fingo (Finnish development NGOs), the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA-SA), the
Climate Action Network's (CAN) South African, Tanzanian and European nodes, and the
Rise Up Movement will conduct a joint webinar on African civil society climate policy
advocacy ahead of COP27, and how to amplify these messages. The thematic focus will be on
climate adaptation.
The webinar targets (development) CSOs in Europe, Africa and beyond interested in learning
about African CSO networks' climate policy advocacy and in amplifying key messages on
the way to COP27, to be held in Egypt in November.
The webinar will be held on Monday, 20 June at 13:00 Central European Summer Time, South
Africa Time / 14:00 East African time, Eastern European Summer Time

The objectives of the webinar are to:
1) create space for African climate CSOs and networks to share their expectations for
the "African COP" with focus on climate adaptation
2) facilitate better understanding among European (development) CSOs on African civil
society climate adaptation policy priorities
3) strengthen collaboration amongst African and European CSOs and networks to enhance
joint climate advocacy and amplify African perspectives in the climate justice debate on
adaptation
4) propose concrete advocacy actions from now until COP27
5) provide inputs for a joint advocacy letter to the ministers of the Champions Group
on Climate Adaptation
