Maailma kylässä -festivaali muuttaa Suvilahteen ja hakee uutta nimeä

MAAILMA KYLÄSSÄ -FESTIVAALI TIEDOTE 27.4.2020 Maailma kylässä -festivaali muuttaa Suvilahteen ja hakee uutta nimeä Tältä keväältä peruuntunut Maailma kylässä -festivaali uudistuu vuodesta 2021 lähtien. Festivaali muuttaa Suvilahden tapahtuma-alueelle, kirkastaa konseptiaan ja avaa nimikilpailun, jolla haetaan ideoita uudeksi nimeksi. Osallistumalla yleisökyselyyn voit vaikuttaa tapahtuman tulevaisuuteen. 25 vuotta Helsingin keväistä kaupunkikuvaa muokannut Maailma kylässä -festivaali muuttaa ensi vuonna Kaisaniemen puistosta ja Rautatientorilta Suvilahden tapahtuma-alueelle Sörnäisten ja Kalasataman kupeeseen. Festivaali järjestetään tuttuun tapaan toukokuun viimeisenä viikonloppuna, 29.–30. toukokuuta 2021. Vuoden 2020 teema, tulevaisuus, siirtyy ensi vuodelle. – Kaisaniemen puisto on menossa jossain vaiheessa remonttiin, joten saimme siitä hyvän sysäyksen festivaalin uudistamiselle. Olemme jo pitkään kaivanneet monipuolisempia sisätiloja, joita Suvilahdessa on tarjolla. Tunnettu tapahtuma-alue antaa varmasti erinomaiset puitteet uudistuvalle Maailma kylässä -festivaalille, miettii festivaalin viestintä- ja varainhankintapäällikkö Nelli Korpi. Sydän säilyy – moni asia muuttuu Festivaali uudistaa samalla myös sisältöään ja ilmettään. Toki sydän säilyy eli Maailma kylässä tulee jatkossakin olemaan globaaliasioiden areena, kehitysjärjestöjen näyttämö sekä värikäs ja iloinen ilmaistapahtuma koko perheelle. – Panostamme jatkossa erityisesti vaikuttavaan puheohjelmaan. Festivaalin teema nousee aiempaa tärkeämpään rooliin koko tapahtuman punaisena lankana. Toki Suvilahdessakin tullaan kuulemaan monipuolista maailmanmusiikkia, kovimpia kotimaisia nimiä ja lastenmusiikkia. Lisäksi lukuisat ruokakojut eri puolilta maailmaa, sadat näytteilleasettajien ständit ja dokumenttielokuvat säilyttävät asemansa festivaalin ytimessä, kertoo festivaalin ohjelmapäällikkö Johanna Eurakoski. Ehdota uutta nimeä ja voita Pelago-pyörä Festivaaliorganisaatio pyytää yleisöä mukaan kehittämään tapahtumaa. Yleisökyselyn avulla selvitetään mikä festivaalissa on parasta, mitä haluttaisiin muuttaa tai mitä uutta toivottaisiin? Entä nimi, onko tapahtuma jatkossakin Maailma kylässä – World Village Festival vai jotain muuta? Festivaali lanseeraa nimikilpailun, jonka palkintona on Pelago-polkupyörä. Pyörä annetaan voittajaehdotukselle tai arvotaan kaikkien kommentoijien kesken, mikäli ehdotusten perusteella ei valita uutta nimeä. Lisäksi kaikkien yleisökyselyyn osallistuneiden kesken arvotaan 30 kappaletta kevään 2020 festivaalille suunniteltuja t-paitoja. Yleisökysely ja kilpailu päättyvät 24.5. Kilpailuun voi osallistua festivaalin sosiaalisen median kanavissa, kyselyn verkkolomakkeella ja sähköpostilla info(a)maailmakylassa.fi<mailto:info@maailmakylassa.fi>. Yleisökyselyn lisäksi näkemyksiä ja kehitysehdotuksia toivotaan tapahtuman sidosryhmiltä. Heille suunnattu kysely lähetetään suoraan festivaalin kanssa tekemisissä oleville organisaatioille. Olen myös listannut rahoitushakuja, joista voitte kertoa yhteistyökumppaneillenne. Olen myös yrittänyt löytää rahoitusta Covid-2019 tilanteeseen liittyen. Joitakin rahoitushakuja löysin ja jos löydän vielä lisää, niin laitan uuden rahoitusviestin lähiaikoina.
