Ground Rules for Volunteering

KEKO seminar on challenges and responsibilities of volunteering and
organizing volunteer work
Time: 8th November, 9.30-13.00
Venue: Pasila library Auditorium, Kellosilta 9, Helsinki

Volunteers invest their time, energy and heart into their work but what
do they get as a reward for their contribution? How to motivate the
volunteers to carry on? What challenges are there in coordinating and
managing volunteer work in the future? Who takes the responsibility over
the volunteer worker, and the work carried out by volunteers? Who gets
the credits and the benefits? How does the increasing
professionalization of the NGOs impact volunteering, and what is the
role of volunteers in cooperation between corporations and NGOs?

These, and other timely and relevant trends and challenges will be
discussed in a seminar, as well as in the two follow-up workshops. One
workshop focuses on the divergent responsibilities attached to
coordinating volunteering, and the other on the role of volunteering in
corporate and NGO partnerships.
