/The Future Global Leaders –project has the pleasure of inviting you to
a seminar:/

*DEVELOPMENT POLICY – WHOSE CONCERN?*

On*Saturday 10th December 2011, at 10:30-14:30*

*At Allianssi-talo, Asemapäällikönkatu 1, 00520 Helsinki*

As the 4^th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness gathers
decision-makers and activists to Busan, the global community is
reflecting the current situation of the whole progress of development.
In these times of on-going crises in terms of food security, financial
stability and climate change, it is important to discuss the
accountability, responsibility, ownership and effectiveness of
development policy.

The purpose of the seminar is to approach development policy from three
current topics: *Millennium Development Goals, Official Development Aid
and asylum seekers. *

As the MDGs are approaching their due date; the effectiveness of ODA is
being questioned and the amount and purpose of asylum seekers is being
discussed, we want to ask who is responsible for these issues.

  *

    Whose goals are MDGs?

  *

    Does ODA make any difference?

  *

Are asylum seekers just using the system?

  *

Is the responsibility global or are nation states responsible for
    wellbeing and development?

The seminar will begin with two keynote speeches and comments and
continue with a debate on these three issues. The audience will have the
possibility to participate in the debate.
