Hei, Mitä evaluoinnit kertovat Suomen kehityspolitiikasta ja yhteistyöstä? Se selviää kehitysevaluoinnin vuosiraportista, joka vetää yhteen keskeisimmät tulokset vuonna 2021 valmistuneista evaluoinneista. Lisäksi raportti nostaa esille evaluointitoiminnan uusia tuulia. UM:n evaluointiyksikön päällikkö korostaa evaluointien hyödyllisyyttä, joka tulisi saavuttaa vaarantamatta kuitenkaan evaluointien riippumattomuutta. GEFin evaluointitoimiston johtaja puolestaan kertoo, miten GEFissä nähdään evaluointien kokonaisvaltaisuus ja huomioidaan ympäristö ja ihmiset. Lopuksi keskustellaan mukautuvasta ohjauksesta ja miten evaluoinnitkin hyötyvät mukautuvuudesta ja innovoinnista. The seating capacity of the Ritarikatusali is 70 people and the seats will be reserved in the order of registrations. Coffee is served from 8.30 onwards. The event can also be followed online. *** Metaevaluation of MFA’s Project and Programme Evaluations in 2017-2020 was commissioned to gain information on the quality of decentralized evaluation reports, their corresponding ToRs and Finnish development cooperation. For the first time, this metaevaluation also assessed usefulness of evaluations. Raportti määrittelee vero-oikeudenmukaisuutta, taustoittaa verovälttelyn roolia maailmantaloudessa, globaalin yritysveropolitiikan uudistumista sekä verotuksen yhteyttä ilmastotoimiin ja sukupuolten väliseen tasa-arvoon. Raportti esittelee niin kehittyvien maiden veropohjan vahvistamista yleisesti ja Suomen osalta kuin keinoja edetä kohti oikeudenmukaista verotusta. Raportissa on suosituksia, miten Suomi voi nykyistä aktiivisemmin olla osa muutosta omilla kansallisilla toimillaan, EU-politiikassa ja tukemalla kehittyvien maiden roolia globaalissa veropolitiikassa. Tilaisuudessa Fingon kestävän talouden asiantuntija Outi Hakkarainen esittelee lyhyesti raportin sisältökokonaisuuden ja kolme teemaa, joihin tilaisuudessa keskitytään. Nämä teemat ovat globaalin veropolitiikan uudistuminen, kehittyvien maiden veropohjan vahvistaminen ja ns. spillover-analyysi eli kansallisten verokäytäntöjen vaikutusten arviointi muille maille. Kunkin teeman osalta keskitytään ajankohtaisiin poliittisiin prosesseihin, kehittyvien maiden asemaan ja siihen, miten Suomi voi osaltaan edistää vero-oikeudenmukaisuutta näissä yhteyksissä. Funding available to support Finnish research partnerships with Africa, Asia, and LAC

The FinCEAL Plus BRIDGES project<https://www.unipid.fi/finceal/what-is-finceal/>, funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education, has opened a call for proposals under the Partnership Support Instrument. The call supports the Finnish research community respond to the challenges posed by COVID-19 in the development and re-establishment of partnerships with peers in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Applicants for the grants must be based at a Finnish higher education or research institute. Activities applied for must meet the following criteria: * Respond to one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals, and * Support either: * the initiation of a new collaborative research partnership with a peer (or peers) in Africa, Asia, or the LAC regions or * the re-establishment or development of an existing collaborative research partnership with a peer (or peers) in Africa, Asia, or the LAC regions. Activities can include, but are not limited to: digitalization, virtual events, translation, small-scale infrastructure support, networking, training, digital production or publication, platform activities. A combination of these activities is also possible. Travel costs are not excluded but are not encouraged at this time. The maximum amount of funding for a single grant is 4 000€. Renewable energy funding call - pre-announcement from the LEAP-RE project

Dear all, please find attached a LEAP-RE funding call pre-announcement. LEAP-RE (Long-term Joint AU-EU Research and Innovation Partnership on Renewable Energy) is a programme with 94 consortium partners, co-funded by the European Commission (Horizon 2020). One part of the LEAP-RE activities is implementing transnational joint Calls for Proposals for collaborative projects, co-funded by European and African national research funding agencies and with an additional EC top-up. The Finnish funding agency involved is the Academy of Finland. Consortia applying for funding must consist of research teams from a minimum of four countries from Europe and Africa, with at least 2 from European countries and at least 2 from African countries. The final Call should be published on 15 January 2021, with a deadline for pre-proposals on 1 April 2021.
