INVITATION

Online workshop:

Integrating Gender into the

DNA of Peacebuilding and EPLO’s advocacy

Conciliation Resources and CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation

with the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO)

Dear colleagues,

The European Peacebuilding Liaison Office, together with Conciliation Resources and CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, would like to invite you to participate in an online participatory workshop on ‘Integrating Gender into the DNA of peacebuilding and EPLO's advocacy’. This workshop will build on elements of the recent report on integrating gender co-published by Conciliation Resources and CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, to strengthen the EPLO network and its actions.

The workshop will take place from 10:30 to 12:00 CEST (Brussels time) on Thursday 18 November 2021 via the online platform Zoom.

The overall objective of the workshop is to provide practical tools for participants to (1) review how they integrate gender into their peacebuilding work and organisational practices to help build equal, inclusive and sustainable peace, (2) identify potential entry points for strengthening their practice, and (3) jointly identify next steps on integrating these elements into EPLO’s work.

By showcasing how some peacebuilding and conflict resolution practitioners, from both Global South and Global North organisations, have begun to apply these tools, this workshop will seek to inspire and empower. Centring gender equality is a core principle in EPLO’s Strategic Framework 2020-2025, and this workshop will aim to support the realization of this objective.

The session will build on the findings and tools developed as a result of a practitioner’s peer-learning initiative that was co-convened in 2020-21 by CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation and Conciliation Resources with the active support of the PeaceNexus Foundation.

Spots for the workshop will be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, and there will be a limit of 35 participants to ensure interactivity during sessions. Discussions will be in English.

This workshop is intended for staff of EPLO Member Organisations (please feel free to share this invitation with the appropriate colleagues).

Please confirm your participation by filling out the following Eventbrite form by COB Tuesday 16 November. For more information about the workshop and participation, please contact Margot Jones (mjones@eplo.org).
