As promised, here’s a brief programme for Wednesday’s meeting on the international status of Women Peace and Security as a part of the drafting process of the fourth Finnish National Action Plan.

Key Note intervention by Päivi Kannisto (Chief of the Peace, Security and Humanitarian section, UN-Women New York) on the current state of the international 1325 agenda – trends, challenges and opportunities.
Perspectives from Sweden by Felicia Sörensdotter (Desk Officer, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Department for UN Policy, Conflict and Humanitarian Affairs) on the ongoing process to update the Swedish 1325 NAP.
Q&A
Panel discussion on the current challenges and opportunities related to the implementation of the 1325-agenda at the local level in some of Finland’s partner Countries. The discussion will be moderated by Erik Lundberg, Ambassador on inclusive peace and security, MFA, Finland.
