Bridge 47 - Tender for a Regional Knowledge Exchange Consultant – Northern European Partnership
The Bridge 47 – Building Global Citizenship<https://www.eadi.org/bridge-47-building-global-citizenship/> project mobilises global civil society to contribute to global justice and eradication of poverty through Global Citizenship Education (GCE). The project provides a space for civil society organisations, activists and other interested people to interact with one another, exchange information and resources and develop new and innovative approaches for global citizenship education. The project focuses on joint advocacy efforts and building new partnerships, while it also supports the civil society to develop new and effective approaches to reaching out to new stakeholders and provides tools to promote and act upon Global Citizenship Education. The project works closely with partners engaged in informal and non-formal education and life-long learning with a view to promoting transformative change in society. Download the full tender here<https://www.eadi.org/typo3/fileadmin/user_upload/Tender_Northern_Partnershi…>
The United Nations 2030 Agenda considers education central in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and for the first time in the global context, recognises that parallel efforts are needed to ensure that all lifelong learners, of different ages and backgrounds, acquire the knowledge and skills to promote sustainable development as outlined in detail by SDG 4.7. Working towards this goal, the B47 project facilitates the implementation of this target and I) aims at developing and promoting successful policies and practices concerning new and innovative ways of reaching out to the wider society OR ii) responds to the focus shift from formal education to informal and non-formal education and invites us to rethink the knowledge, skills, and capacities we all need as world citizens.
EADI, the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes takes the leading role in the work on Knowledge Exchange Partnerships which serve to ensure a free flow of information and best practices between research institutions and civil society organisations. This is done by building new and strengthening existing regional partnerships. With a series of events, workshops and conferences over the next years, we are contributing to bridge gaps between civil society organisations and academia. The regional Knowledge Exchange Partnerships in Iberia, Northern Europe and South-Eastern Europe will be open to interested civil society organisations and academic institutions.

NEWSLETTER 1/2019
Dear members of the GERIF-network,
You receive this newsletter because you have expressed an interest in
joining the network for global education research in Finland (GERIF).
SUMMARY OF NETWORK MEETING 27.2.2019
We want to thank all the 25 people who participated in the network
meeting in Helsinki on the 27th of February. It was nice to see so
many competent and enthusiastic people there! At the meeting, there
was a clear consensus that the new network is needed. The participants
hoped that the network would make research more accessible by
collecting it to one place (the upcoming website) and also by
presenting research in popularized ways. Concerning collaboration, the
participants wished that the network would facilitate cooperation
between research and practice and encourage critical debate.
SAVE THE DATE
We can inform you that the network will gather at the FERA conference
on Education (Kasvatustieteen päivät) 21th - 22th of November 2019 in
Joensuu. For the conference, we are planning a working group on global
education. Currently, we are also applying for the status of Special
Interest Group (SIG-group) within the Finnish Educational Research
Association, in order to enhance multidisciplinary cooperation within
global education research and increase the visibility of the network.
UPCOMING WEBSITE
The next step is to launch a website for the network, in which we can
share and discuss recent publications and research projects as well as
inform about upcoming scientific events related to global education.
Our aim is to provide you with more information on the website within
April.
NETWORK COORDINATORS
The network is coordinated by the following group: Elina Lehtomäki
(professor, University of Oulu), Antti Rajala (postdoctoral
researcher, University of Helsinki), Sanna Rekola (expert on global
education, Fingo), Antti Kylänpää (doctoral researcher, Tampere
University) and Heidi Henriksson (doctoral researcher, Åbo Akademi
Unversity).
